The Windrush Day Grant Scheme supports groups to commemorate, celebrate and educate
people about the contribution of the Windrush generation and their descendants across
communities in our country. Funded projects will help people join together in celebrating the
arrival of the MV Empire Windrush.
The grant scheme forms a part of the Government’s commitment to level up opportunity
across diverse communities and help build greater trust in public services while improving
outcomes for everyone and forging a greater sense of belonging.
The response has been overwhelming and we have received 260+ applications requesting a
total of £6 million.
28 groups have received over £480,000 in funding for broad range of projects celebrating the
Windrush generation through community-led arts, educational and sporting events across
England. With £3.25 million awarded over the last six years, the Windrush Day Grant
Scheme continues to honour and highlight the legacy of the Windrush generation.
We are grateful and also honoured to be delivering the WFG

WINDRUSH CELEBRATION & COMMEMORATION
BBC Sunday Morning Live June 2023
Here's a testimonial from someone who didn't even attend the weekender!
Hey Janice & Weininger, just to congratulate you both on what I heard was a very successful weekend. Mrs P couldn't wait to tell me about it when she got back and she was absolutely buzzing. I'm not exaggerating when I say that's the happiest i've seen her since Mr P passed. She said she had a fantastic time and couldn't fault anything. Keep doing what you're doing as this goes far far beyond just having fun and is having a real impact on peoples lives 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

HISTORIC TEA PARTY
We go to where it all started, Tilbury. The port of call for the HMT Empire Windrush which docked 22nd June 1948.
Fast forward to 22nd June 2023 and we take the lead in the very same ticket office hall where those commonwealth citizens were processed with a national tea party celebration like no other, at the port of entry to the UK, where it all began.
Our tea parties are the new social medication we would love to see you at our next one.
